(More customer reviews)Ghirardelli Chocolate Caramel Coffee was, at one time, my favorite flavored coffee. When cream and sweetner were added to the brewed coffee, it was decadently rich and wonderfully tasty. However, that was then and this is now.
Recently, Ghirardelli's quality has deteriorated; both its flavored coffees and dark chocolate chips are no longer the standard by which others may be judged. In particular, the Chocolate Caramel Coffee has taken on a very artificial flavor. One can no longer set up a coffee maker for brewing at a later time because the odor from the Chocolate Caramel Coffee is enough to knock one out. My son-in-law insists that I double bag the coffee until I am ready to make it. After I have my morning brew he insists that I put the remaining coffee into a sealed container. Is he controlling - well, if this coffee did not exude such a sickening, sweet odor I would say 'yes.' However, he is right and I will no longer be purchasing Chocolate Caramel Coffee.
I rated this as three stars because the coffee itself is smooth and a nice, light roast. If only Ghirardelli had maintained its former quality...
