I used to think all molasses was the same, but, like honey or peanut butter, there is a difference. this has the best taste. I use it for my shake (handful of almonds, an apple or banana, flaxseed, tablespoon of molasses and some whey protein powder and a little soy milk) for an after-workout snack, but plan to try it in cooked dishes as well.

The highest grade, pure molasses - like Grandma's - is made from 100% pure, natural sugarcane juices, clarified, reduced, and blended to get just the right color and consistency. But there's difference in grades of molasses. The purest molasses is pure cane juice. If a manufacturer wants sugar, the cane juice will be processed. The result is a raw sugar and low purity molasses. But Grandma's Original Molasses (Gold Label) is the original, high purity, unprocessed cane juice without any sugar extraction. In manufacturing raw sugar, after the cane has been harvested and mashed, the raw juices are boiled to extract sugar. To produce table sugar, the manufacturer will further process raw sugar into refined sugar. The remaining syrup - after the sugar has been crystallized - is called first molasses. Grandma's Robust Molasses (Green Label) is a blend of first molasses. First molasses, a thick brown syrup, is then thinned with water and re-boiled so that more raw sugar can be extracted. The leftover syrup from the second boiling is second molasses, and so on. The more boiling you have, the less sweet molasses becomes until you get down to three or more boilings. By this time, the molasses known as "blackstrap" has almost no sweetness, but the highest nutritional value. Grandma's Original Molasses is pure, concentrated cane juice, and retains its natural sugar content. It's sweet, light and never bitter. Grandma's Molasses is a rich, amber-color that blends beautifully with other foods and enhances the natural flavors of the ingredients with which it is mixed.

(More customer reviews)What I like most about these muffin packs is that the whole mix only makes 6 muffins total. Many other mixes make 12 or more, and, if you have a small household, you're stuck with way too many muffins.
These were better than expected - they are soft, flavorful, and baked perfectly. Also, use a small amount of cooking spray on your muffin pans and these will pop right out of the pan after cooking.
It isn't the healthiest food out there, but overall, I'd recommend this mix.

(More customer reviews)This cookbook has been abolutely amazing! My daughter is allergic to corn and could not have storebought or even homemade marshmallows until I found this book. Granted, you can make the recipes using light corn syrup, but try taking the time to make some of the marshmallow syrup. It lasts months and the results taste cleaner and less gummy than with corn syrup. I have made the vanilla marshmallows multiple times to rave reviews. Not only that, everyone loved looking through the book, which is beautifully photographed and formatted. It would make a wonderful coffee table book even if you didn't try out the recipes. But it is SO worth it! The cinnamon mocha marshmallow batter is quite possibly the most wonderfully evil thing I have ever made. My two girls went crazy for those marshmallows, even more than the vanilla ones. Which by the way, make the most fabulous rocky road candy ever. Even my non marshmallow liking mom could not resist finishing the whole huge piece when she went to just try a little bite. The only trouble is trying to decide which flavor to try next. I really love that for the regular marshmallows, you do not have to drizzle hot syrup into the mixer. You just mix it all together, chuck it in the mixer and let it go. The author has step by step pictures on her website under the help section at [...]. Use the Look inside option to check out the contents and index to see just what an amazing variety is offered, from the mundane to the exotic. Buy it, use it, then sit back and bask in the flow of complements. Ten stars. Highly recommend.

There is no chocolate or any other covering so you get the pure marzipan taste. There are only 3 ingredients: almonds, sugar, and invert sugar syrup. No nasty artificial ingredients. The main ingredient is almonds so the product is not too sweet, unlike other brands where the main ingredient is sugar. Product arrived fresh, soft, and moist, sealed in a plastic pack. It is eligible for free shipping, and it was shipped next day express. It is more expensive than other marzipan products because other products are mostly sugar or contain artificial ingredients. If you want to make marzipan fruits (especially for kids), consider purchasing love 'n bake marzipan in a can instead, which contains more sugar, which makes it more ideal for that purpose.

(More customer reviews)I found this once in the store, bought it, and found it to be an excellent mole sauce. It's not especially salty, and the fruit notes really shine through in this. Works well as a late addition or even condiment for roasted meats. The opened jar kept in the fridge for a couple of weeks. I haven't found it in the store again, and have been reluctant to order online due to the price, but it is tasty stuff.

The big spice company McCormick has been my choice for many spices and vanilla for years. I have wondered about all of the more exotic choices but my hyper grocery store doesn't carry but their own brand or McCormick. So gave the Totonac vanilla a try and was surprised at the difference. First off their brand does not have contain alcohol..hmmm didn't know there was such a thing. Also if you smell the one that does have the alcohol and then the Totonac the first one starts to take on a medisnell smell. All this being said the taste is in the pudding as the saying goes. I made various baked goodies and noticed a tangible difference. The Totonac offers a much more floral/fruity vanilla taste. Lastly the cost is significantly less than store bought also. Give this a try and find yourself looking for excuses to make treats just because this is so good.

The store coconut extract didn't add any coconut flavor to my dish (coconut cupcakes or coconut bread pudding). This product did the trick. It adds a distinct coconut flavor and is delicious, but don't use too much - it can be powerful. I use this product whenever I need to add a little coconut flavor. The amount in the dram is small, enough for 2 uses, so I usually order 2 at a time.

Artisana Coconut Butter-Cacao Bliss (100% Organic),8-Ounce Review

(More customer reviews)I am a huge fan of coconut and chocolate is my weakness. The manufacturer mixes both to create a pretty good product with Cacao Bliss.
When I first received this jar, I was not too impressed. The appearance of the product was that of stale/old chocolate. It was crumbly when I tried to dip my spoon in it. I had anticipated a creamy substance. This product is not creamy out of the jar. Unless the entire jar has been left in the sun or in a hot spot, don't expect to dip your knife or spoon in and spread it around on a piece of toast.
In terms of eating options, I do recommend heating the product. While I now enjoy eating it in its solid form out of the jar, heating some of the product creates a substance that can be spread easily on toast. I also like taking shavings of this product and sprinkling it on cupcakes. The coconut and chocolate flavor is a subtle addition to any sweet treat.
I will note that the flavor took some getting used to. It probably took three to four samplings before I started to really want to eat spoonfuls of the product. I think with any new product that has a slightly different consistency and flavor there is an adjustment period. I'm glad I didn't give up on it and took some time to experiment with how it could be used. I will be incorporating this product into gift baskets for both my vegan and non-vegan friends and family.
It is recommended that this product not be refrigerated.

As a vegan product, there is no milk, eggs, honey or other animal-based substances that go into the formulation of this product. According to the product packaging, this product is "made in a facility that processes tree nuts and soy, but does not process peanuts, gluten, dairy, cholesterol or GMO's." This product is also sugar cane free.
Considering that Amazon typically packages products in sets of 2 or 6, it is nice to be able to purchase one jar without committing 40 or 50 dollars on a bulk set of 6. I do wish the jars were a bit larger.
I give this product 4.5 stars.
